Gun Mayhem

Gun Mayhem is a 2D side-scrolling shooter where the goal isn't just to hit your enemies — it's to knock them off the edge of the arena and send them plummeting into the void.
You play as a small fighter on floating platforms, battling bots or real players, grabbing power-up crates as they drop, and trying to hold your ground for as long as possible.
The objective is straightforward: knock your opponents off the stage more times than they knock you off. Your "life" isn't tracked by a health bar — instead, the more damage you take, the farther you fly when hit by bullets or explosions. By the end of a round, even a single shot or grenade can send you flying off the screen.
Game Modes: Campaign and Custom Game
In Campaign mode, you work through a series of missions against AI opponents across different maps. It starts with simple one-on-one duels, but things escalate quickly — tougher enemies start using power-ups more aggressively and actively try to push you out of strong positions.
Missions vary in their objectives: from the classic "knock everyone off the arena" to scenarios with special goals and unique rules.
In Custom Game mode, you set up the match yourself. You can choose the map, the number of players (up to four on a single PC), bot difficulty, and ruleset — options like Last Man Standing or 1 Hit 1 Kill, where one clean shot decides everything.
This mode is perfect for playing with friends: everyone picks their character and perks to match their playstyle and tries to outplay the rest.
Characters and Perks
Before the fight, the game lets you create and customize your fighter. You choose a name, appearance (hat, shirt), and a starting pistol, as well as a perk — a passive bonus that shapes how you play.
Perks can grant things like increased speed, reduced recoil, extra ammo, or other stat boosts. This means two fighters who look nearly identical can play completely differently: one dashes around relying on close-range combat, while the other controls the distance with a nearly recoil-free rifle.
Weapons and Power-Up Crates
One of the biggest thrills in Gun Mayhem is the massive arsenal. The game features 64 types of weapons split into categories: SMGs, assault rifles, sniper rifles, shotguns, machine guns, pistols, and special weapons like the minigun or the Dematerializer.
A match usually starts with a basic pistol, but bonus crates drop onto the arena regularly. Whoever reaches the crate first gets a more powerful weapon or an upgrade that can completely shift the momentum of the match.
Shotguns blast enemies away at close range, automatics and machine guns let you slowly push opponents off the edge, snipers let you knock enemies off distant platforms, and special weapons can flip the balance of power entirely.
Alongside shooting, there's a dedicated button for throwing a bomb. Grenades deal heavy damage and pack a serious knockback punch — a well-timed throw can send multiple enemies flying, but a careless one might launch you instead. That's what makes bombs such a high-risk, high-reward tool.
Maps and Match Pace
Gun Mayhem's arenas are a collection of compact maps, each featuring one or more platforms arranged across different levels. Visually, they range from safari and night city to winter landscapes, forests, deserts, and underwater worlds — plus special maps with unconventional platform layouts.
Every map calls for a different approach: some are better suited for jumping down on enemies from above, others reward staying in the center and not letting yourself get cornered, and some come down to long-range weapons and smart use of power-ups.
Through it all, the pace stays relentlessly fast: you're constantly moving, jumping, grabbing crates, and fighting to keep yourself from getting knocked off the screen.
Playing with Friends and Against AI
Gun Mayhem works great both as a solo experience and as a local multiplayer game. In Campaign mode, you can sharpen your skills against AI opponents, learn the maps, and experiment with different perks and weapons.
But the game truly comes alive when up to four players gather around a single computer. Everyone controls their own character using different key bindings on the same keyboard — movement, shooting, and bombs — and the screen erupts into pure chaos: someone accidentally knocks their teammate off the edge, someone snatches a powerful weapon crate at the last second, someone barely scrambles back onto the platform with a double jump.
Thanks to the cartoon art style, the absence of any gore, and the simple "knock everyone off and don't fall yourself" ruleset, the game is just as comfortable for kids as it is for adults. At the same time, the wide variety of weapons, perks, and modes adds enough depth to keep you hooked through long play sessions.

What is the main goal in Gun Mayhem?
The main goal is to knock your opponents off the edge of the arena so they fall into the abyss, while avoiding getting knocked off the platforms yourself. The winner is the one who does this the required number of times, earning more points or being the last one standing in the chosen mode.
How many players can play Gun Mayhem on one computer?
Up to four people can play Gun Mayhem on a single PC, using different keyboard layouts to control their characters. You can also mix human players and bots, adjusting the AI difficulty to match your group's skill level.
What modes are available in Gun Mayhem?
The game offers two main modes: Campaign and Custom Game. In Campaign, you play through a series of missions against AI on different maps, while in Custom Game you set your own match rules, including modes like Last Man Standing or 1 Hit 1 Kill.
How is Gun Mayhem different from regular shooters?
In Gun Mayhem, you can't simply "finish off" an opponent with a health bar — the goal is to knock them off the arena and out of the screen. The game also focuses on short matches, local multiplayer on a single PC, and dozens of weapons and perks, rather than realism.
Can you customize characters in Gun Mayhem?
Yes, before the match you can create your own character by choosing their appearance (hat, shirt), starting weapon, and a perk that provides a useful bonus. This lets you tailor your character to your preferred playstyle — from a fast-moving assault fighter to a heavier shooter with boosted stats.
